Jimmy Roan Farrar Funeral Home Farmerville, LA Memorial services for Jimmy Roan, 72, of West Sterlington will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2:00p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Brother Aleck Nyegaard officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00p.m. until time of service. Jimmy was born April 14, 1943, and went to his heavenly home November 9, 2015. He was a representative for the OCAW/PACE International Union for 28 years before he retired to spend time and travel with his loving wife, Melissa. Jimmy loved nothing more than to host celebrations for family and friends at his home on the Ouachita River. He was well-loved and gave selflessly his entire life and will be greatly missed by many. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Zephra Mae Roan, his sister, Betty Martin, and his beloved Yorkie, Halle. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Melissa Hackworth Roan; his children, Kam Matthews and husband Shorty, and Tonya Johnson and husband Jimmy; his step-children Jeremy Delhommer (Lindsey), Hannah Boggs (Jennifer), and Jonathan Delhommer (Ashley); 12 grandchildren: James Allen "Jimmy" Roan (Kym), Courtney Jinks (Colby), Erica Johnson (Tyler), Michael Johnson (Nakita), Ryan Johnson (Desiree), Brianna, Peyton, Beckham, Mason and Madden Delhommer and Mackey and Morgan Boggs. He also left to cherish his memory 10 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: George, John, Raymond (Loree) and Billy Roan; 4 sisters: Pat Martin (David), Faye Poole (James), Diane Yoes (Greg) and Katie Woodall; his precious in-laws Winfred and Ina Hackworth, brother and sister-in-law Steve and Jeannie Hackworth; special friend and caregiver Mike Dixon, and countless other friends. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. "A limb has fallen from our family tree that says grieve not for me; remember the best times, the laughter and the song and most of all the good life I lived while I was strong."
