Jitendra P. Shah

So saddened to hear this news. Dr. Shah was a true gentleman. I knew I could always turn to him for an honest opinion and wise advice. And, yes, he taught me which variety of mango is the very best. :) When I joined the medical staff in 1998, he was immediately kind and respectful, and I looked up to him as a father - figure. My prayers are with his beloved family. He will be missed.

Jay Shah was a class act. I was fortunate to be his colleague and enjoyed our conversations in the OR and doctors lounge. Among other things, he always gave me great Indian food and restaurant recommendations. After he retired, we were all happy he continued coming by the hospital every once in a while to say hello. Jay will be remembered as an honorable man and will be missed. Deepest condolences to his family.

I was shocked by this unexpected and untimely demise of Jay. I was fortunate to have known him for over 20 years as a true friend and colleague. We had many times of sweet fellowship. He was a man of integrity. He was a God-fearing man. There are very few real men like Jay who had maintained high standards of ethics and morals throughout his career as a physician. Among his other many talents, Jay was an expert at identifying the best Mangoes in the bunch. He taught me this skill at our Washington U. LLI classes. He was a truly gentle man with a great sense of humor. I´ll miss him. Thanks, Jay.
