Jo Ann (Beckett) Boucher, 70, of Duchess Road, Cumberland, Rhode Island, formerly of North Attleboro, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the wife of Roland E. Boucher to whom she was married on October 13, 1951.

Born in Columbus, Ohio on April 8, 1933, she was a daughter of the late William E., Sr. and Thelma L. (Bingham) Beckett. She was raised and educated in North Attleboro where she was a 1950 graduate of North Attleboro High School. Following graduation, she later attended business school.

She was a resident of North Attleboro until 1981 when she moved to Cumberland, Rhode Island.

Mrs. Boucher was a dedicated homemaker.

She attended the First Congregational Church in North Attleboro and enjoyed traveling, solving puzzles and crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband of 52 years, she leaves a daughter: Linda S. Boucher of Cumberland; five sons: Steven R. Boucher of North East Harbor, Maine; Bruce M. Boucher of Cumberland; David E. Boucher of Turner, Maine; Kevin N. Boucher of Guntersville, Alabama and Eric S. Boucher of Arlington, Virginia; two sisters: Eleanor J. Santsaver of North Attleboro; Nancy L. Kline of Leesburg, Florida; a brother: William E. Beckett, Jr. of North Attleboro; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 1:00 PM in the “Commonwealth Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2003 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the “Commonwealth Chapel” of the funeral home.

Supervised children’s room available during visitation and the funeral service.

Those in need of a ride to visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 for free transportation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Boucher’s name may be made to the Sturdy Memorial Foundation, Inc., Attention: Development Office, PO Box 2963, Attleboro, MA 02703 for the benefit of heart research.

I was sorry to hear about Jo Ann's passing away. I remember visting your house as a kid on Allen Avenue. Please know you and your family are in my prayers at this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of JoAnn's passing. I was a friend during our high school years and it was great seeing her at
our 50th reunion.
Also, Linda, we met when my Mom was at Sturdy in June 2002.
