Jo Jacobs

The Jacobs were a big part of my time at Kalamazoo College in the 60s. I saw them about once a week when I did their ironing. I learned a lot from Jo.

Katie, Scott, and Becky. Have thought about you many times over the years. Upon a search, I discovered this obituary. Just wanted to let you know that your mom influenced me in many positive ways, one of which was to always be open-minded. The world needs more like her.

She was a role model for many and I am proud to have had women like her as a role model. My best to her family.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR JO JACOBS

Will be held on Saturday, March 12th 2016, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm, at the Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts, 314 South Park Street, Kalamazoo, MI.

This event will be open-house style, with an informal program beginning at 6:00 pm. The galleries will be open for the first hour, there will be food for noshing, and, of course, drinks to toast this remarkable woman. I have been blessed to have Jo as a friend and mentor. She encouraged me to go back to school and become a teacher. I have been teaching for over 15 years. Each year, I read a book to my students that Jo gave to me. I wear a hat in honor of her love for literacy and children. You will always be gentle on my mine.
