Not sure what to say?

Joachim and Liz were our dearest friends.

I did not know Joachim Grube, but my daughter who lives in Corvallis emailed me the info. because she knew that I also was born in Danzig in the year 1938. I would have loved to have known Joachim Grube. Gisela Reichhard geb.Knop

As a German historian I had the honour to write the biography on Joachim Grube's father-in-law, Hermann Rauschning, once President of the Free State of Danzig before WWII. Joachim opened his private archive in his beautiful Portland home and let me see and copy whatever I wanted. He was a most impressing character and together with his wife Liz an unforgettable host. Albrecht Hagemann

I am so sorry I was unable to attend Joachim's memorial service. Though we only worked together for 3 years in the early nineties, he left an indelible imprint on me, which I suspect he did with everyone he touched. I feel humbled and indebted to him for our brief time together, and send heartfelt condolences to everyone who...

Huge thanks to Ed and family for allowing so many of us to gather yesterday and share our memories of Joachim. For those who have not seen it, there is a wonderful 10-minute video that the Architecture Foundation of Oregon produced when they named Joachim their 2019 Honored Citizen. You can view it here https://www.af-oregon.org/honored-citizen-dinner/honored-citizens/

We were very sad indeed to learn about Liz and then so soon afterward Joachim's passing. Two wonderful and kind souls. We enjoyed a wonderful home cooked meal with them in April 2021. Marti took this photo of us three at their home afterward. May they truly RIP. With love, Tony and Marti Belluschi
