Not sure what to say?

I do remember him as a wonderful husband to my friend Rita, I graduated with in Cologne, 1968 as well as a very caring host when the chattering and loud laughing ladies from Cologne invaded the wonderful mansion in Somerset, New Jersey. He always kept composure. So sorry that he left my beloved friend Rita & his son behind. I do hope for Jo that his last journey was peaceful. Irene Schartmann , Cologne, Germany

It is with sadness to know of the passing of jo. Both he and Rita are well remembered from years past

Rest in peace, Jo. A great human being and a great scientist.

Rest in peace , dear Jo ! Far too early. You lived so healthy and conscious. Unbelieveable. My condolences to Rita, Simon and his family . Irene Schartmann , Cologne, Germany

Gladys Keizer ,Messing Lab Scientist 2000 to 2005

Dr. Messing never liked to be called Doctor, only Jo. What a humble human being. I often remember the lab meetings and monthly birthday cakes as we worked hard to contribute to the Maiz, Rice and sorghum genome. Herr Messing war ein guter Mentor, Danke schoen Jo, Ruhe in Frieden.
