Our father and all of our mother's children would like to sincerely thank each of you for taking the time to express how you felt about our mother. It is of no surprise to any of us that she touched so many in such a positive and loving way...and please know that your thoughts truly do help.

Although it is very difficult for her family to imagine going on without her....the loss of her strength, her unselfishness, her wisdom, her caring, all unconditional.... we know that each of you...

Joan was one of the kindest, caring, warm, and genuine women I have known. I enjoyed our chats when we worked at Riverside Academy together. She inspired me & so many others with her strength, courage, & love. Family was her heart & soul. Know that she is always watching over you & is just a whisper away. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory is a treasure.

The Alverson Family,
Joan was a wonderful person to work with at School 60. She was a true supporter of education. May God bless at you at this time.
