LAST WORDS

We all know what a remarkable person Joan was. Not least in maintaining a large extended family of friends of which we represent a lucky few.

I have always admired her passion for learning and sharing knowledge through her teaching. Joan was a wonderful communicator.

Her approach to learning and teaching was always collegial and team focused, underscored by her lively sense of humour and a natural generosity of spirit. Her motto: If it wasn't fun it wasn't...

The New South Wales Fencing Association expresses our sympathy for the family of Joan Beck who was a leading light in the sport of fencing. As Head Coach of The Swords Club, she inspired many of our successful fencers and coaches and her legacy will be lasting.
