Joan K. Bloomfield, 88 of Bucyrus Ohio passed away on Friday February 28, 2025, at Unger Park Nursing Home (Heartland of Bucyrus). She was born April 2nd, 1936, in Shelby, Ohio to the late William and Fern (Keiser) Fry. Joan was married December 5th, 1954, to Lloyd Bloomfield Sr. who preceded her in death on December 17, 2005. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Carmella and June; 3 brothers Robert, George, and Brody; granddaughters Kelly Jo Bloomfield and Belinda Brown Bloomfield; great great granddaughter Ava Barthalow; great grandson Mathew Bloomfield; 2 daughters Loyanna Noggle and Margaret Ann (Peggy) Weiler; as well as 1 son Lloyd Bloomfield Jr.
Joan is survived by 5 children, daughters Nancy Knell of Bucyrus and Patricia Highfield of Nevada, OH; sons Cloyd Bloomfield of Garrison, KY, General Bloomfield of Bucyrus, and Roger (Ellen) Bloomfield of Bucyrus; 18 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren: and 1 great great grandchild expecting.
Joan worked for many years at the Brown Derby Restaurant and at Posey’s until she retired. She also worked for Bucyrus City Schools in the cafeteria as a lunch lady. Joan loved her family with her whole heart, and she loved babysitting her grandkids and spending time with them.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home and burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
