Joan T. Bood (nee Wronko), age 77 of Hobart passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014. She was born on October 29, 1936 to the late Joseph and Catherine Wronko. Joan was a lifelong Hobart resident and a longtime member of Assumption BVM Church. She was a member of AARP, a former member of the Women's Guild, of the Orchard Lake Auxiliary, and member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union (PRCU). She enjoyed the outdoors, her family especially her grandchildren as well as collecting cardinals.
She is survived by her husband, David T, Bood Sr. of Hobart, IN; 10 children, Karen (Stephen) Osborne of Cedar Lake, IN; David (Brenda) Bood Jr. of Hobart, IN; Kevin (Lisa) Bood of Mooresville, IN; Cheryl (Robert) Bartley of Newberry, FL; Jeff (Kim) Bood of Mount Gilead, OH; Mike (Dianne) Bood of Hobart, IN; Lynn (Noel) Fuentes of Lowell, IN; Tim Bood of Hobart, IN; Ken (Abby) Bood of Hobart, IN; Nick (Casandra) Bood of Hobart, IN; 2 brothers, Joseph Wronko of Tucson, AZ; Ray (Mary) Wronko of Ocean Springs, MS; 1 son-in-law, Jeff Tarry, 22 grandchildren, Aaron, Alisa, Patrick, Ryan, Nichole, Darren, Breanna, Brandon, Josh, Missy, Lauren, Chris, Derek, Mitchell, Melissa, Nathan, Joey, Isabella, Careena, Olivia, Collin, and Aubrie, and 5 great-grandchildren, Grace, Emily, Payton, Chloe, and Jordyn.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Tarry.
Funeral services are Monday, February 10, 2014 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, and proceeding to Assumption BVM for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
