Your Mom was a delightful person. I always enjoyed our visits when she stopped by the credit union. She will be missed.

George and Nancy, I was sorry to read about Joan's passing. As you know I met Joan when she and her sister (the late Mary Ellen Hovey Newman) came to my former home (and THEIR former home) on Clara Ave. What a treasure these ladies were to me and my family. I remain grateful for their knowledge of Ukiah and their kindness. Condalences to you and the extended family. JERI AND GLENN THURKOW, NORTH BEND, OREGON

George, our condolences.

God Bless You Joan. You were a wonderful neighbor, a great person, and had a wonderful personality with a cute bit of wit. Thank you for being you.

I loved Joan's sense of humor and benefited from her patience and kindness when assisting her in a grant project at SRJC. I will always remember Joan with love and appreciation.

During one of the times Joan served on the Vestry of Holy Trinity Episcopal church, we met at her home for our meetings. Joan always baked the most delicious brownies for us each time & graciously served coffee or tea to refresh us. She shared her long history of the church with us & always had a positive attitude. A delightful lady & a marvelous friend.

Joan was a true friend and a role model for all women. At my 75th Birthday party she wrote a Birthday poem for me which was loving and humerous. I have it framed on my wall so I will never forget that day. Today, when I noticed the my irises are blooming, I remembered sending Joan home with an arm full of them. Now when I see Irises blooming, I shall always remember Joan.

During my career as Respiratory Therapy Director at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, it was my privilege to know, and collaborate with Joan as Director of Health Occupations at SRJC. Joan was always the professional who commanded and received the best results from staff and programs under her guidance. May God bless you Joan.
