Not sure what to say?

She was the first person to meet us when my Mother passed , It could not have been more serene , I will never forget the peace I felt , she was God sent for us

A life lived to its fullest and so instructively. And one my mother, a teacher and librarian who held a masters in english literature, and too my aunt, who was a longtime instructor of children's literature, both of whom also were from the immediate Boston area, quite probably deeply appreciated. Thank you Joan, for so enriching the young throughout your years and, especially, for all you contributed to our elders during yours and your husband Tom's own later years of life.

We have fond memories of Joan running the Beehive when my son started school. She was a wonderful teacher for a boy who was shy and needed to gain confidence to do his best work. And I was one of Dr. Tom Buell's students at Portland State decades ago. I thank the talented Buell family for their gifts.

Didn't know her, but reading part of her life stories here,I wanted to offer my heartfelt sympathies to her family and friends. Hospice House is a wonderful legacy, she helped countless families in their time of need.

Mrs. Buell would come to our parents' house for faculty parties and engage us kids in interesting fun conversations. She seemed truly interested in our adolescent lives and Mr. Buell was an absolute gas. Such fond memories.
