Doug and family, My thoughts and prayers go with you. Joan was one year behind me at Providence School of Nursing, so I had the privilege of knowing her. She gave a lot to the nursing profession.

Joan and I were students and close friends at Providence. We shared so many good times and going home with her was always a treat. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I worked with Joan at Providence Portland Medical Center. Joans vision, collaboration, leadership and can do attitude pushed Providence Portland Medical Center at the forefront of realizing an electronic medical record. Joans contribution forever changed a patients medical record. Thank you Joan for your significant contribution to Nursing as well as Medical Informatics. Thank you for greatly impacting the second half of my nursing career with mentorship & leadership. Rest in Peace.

Joanie and I first knew each other when I was 6 and she was 10 and we became neighbors. She always made time to play paperdolls with me and we always had neighborhood plays, which she took part in. I learned to cook Italian, when Rose, Auntie Louise and others would be cooking, often with 2 kitchens bustling at the same time in their home. We remained friends with her and Doug throughout the years and watched their 3 children growup. It has been a privilege to know Joanie and have loved her...

Angie and I are so sorry about your loss. When I told Angie, her comment was "I thought we were all going to live forever". I think that is how we all feel so it comes as a shock and with a great deal of sadness when we hear about someone as dear and as nice as Joan leaving our world. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Doug, and with your family. Be strong and be supported by Joan's loving memory and the love of your friends and family.
