As a new year begins...Joan remains in our thoughts. I continue to think of her when we venture to the beach...no matter how often we visit the same sandy shore we always encounter new mysteries. Since the summer of 1975 I have used the boxes with thousands of children and adults of all ages in hands-on, cross curricular activites. She was a true example of someone with a consistent quest for knowledge for herself and the betterment of her family and her community.
