Joan Marie Cole

I didn't know Joan very well, just well enough to know that she was determined, smart, loyal, and caring. To those in her family , her friends and her customers, my deepest condolences.

She was a delightful person. Always on the move, I nicknamed her Joan Jett. She told me about her travels, going up north, the cruise with Bo and was it Ireland or England ? But it was when she talked about her family that she really glowed, the story about the grandson and a Harry Potter book made me smile. I remember Doug hanging the outside Christmas lights and who was it fixing the roof ? I watched Rich work on her car and rode around with her trying to charge the battery in Barb's...

We will miss her constant cheerfulness, conversation at lunch, and fun talk about hockey.

Joan was an amazing person. She had a love for life and her family. If you had a bad day, she always had a kind word or some funny story of what happened earlier in the day at Borders that always could make you feel better. She had a "tell it, like it is" attitude which is something I always admired about her. She was honest and sincere. I'll always remember how many repeat customers would come in asking if Joan was working. She had a way of making them feel special. I hope her family knows...

I worked with Joan for three and a half years at Border Express/ Waldenbooks. She was always a joy to work with and a great person to talk to. She will be deeply missed. I am sorry I am unable to make the services but she is in my thoughts and prayers.
