Conkey, Joan D. age 76, of Mound, passed away peacefully July 10, 2008 with her family by her side. Preceded in death by her parents, Harold Brooks and Nila O. Dee and the father of her children, Robert F. Conkey Sr. Survived by children, Nila Luby, Robert F. (Carrie) Conkey Jr., Norri (Dave) Huggett, Deanna Conkey (Don Roderick), Dan (Karen) Conkey, Nina Conkey, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister, Geralyn Hennings and numerous other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joan was a very generous woman whose open door policy at her home helped many people in the Mound area. A celebration of Joan's life will be held on Friday (8-1-08) at Huber Funeral Home, 1801 Commerce Blvd. Mound, from 5:00-8:00 PM with Memorial service at 7:00 PM. Memorials preferred. Well Gramma,
All I can say is that I am going to miss you coming out to Coon Rapids to stay with Nina and the boys in the summer time. My fondest memories are buying cream soda and Little Debbies (Which we know we were not suppose to have :) Nina would always get mad at us~. You always brought a smile to my boys face and I can only say that we will never forget your cute little saying "Oh, I would never do that!"
