When my parents moved back to Pomeroy in 1984 to care for my grandfather, Joan and her husband lived on Wright Street. Joan would push her husband in his wheel chair, down the street and stop and watch us as we prepared the lot for a trailer for Mom & Dad to move into.
Joan became a very good friend to my Mom. Mom helped her through the days after her husband died and Joan helped Mom after my Dad died.
Joan could tell the funniest stories about her days teaching. ...
