I was in JLB with Sister Joan at Norwood Fontbonne Academy. I cannot think of a better way to begin my academic career. Sister Joan was definitely a force to be reckoned with. She always expected her students to do their very best and made sure we knew when she was disappointed with us. She may have seemed like the toughest junior level Montessori teacher at times, but she was extremely instrumental in shaping the person I am today. Joan was a teacher of mine whom I will never forget. Her kindness and patience in all situations was something to greatly admire. Her work as a gifted teacher affected countless students, myself included. I will miss her dearly, her presence always made me smile. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones and family-
