Not sure what to say?

Wonderful

She was prone to repeat adjectives like “gorgeous” and “beautiful” without scarcity and with a grin.
“Did you hear that Tomgorgeous!”

I believe her most favorite word was “wonderful”.
She said it with such conviction as to describe everything around her. The first few years I knew her I thought she was from New England because the word “wonderful” sounded more like “Won da full. When I finally asked her about her accent she looked at me and...

Joan was so lovable! And kind, and welcoming, and ready to laugh! I knew her for many years through the peer counseling community. She was a generous listener. We loved to talk about food and I often think about her when I make one of the recipes she shared.

When I moved back to Cleveland in 2003, Joan became my liaison to Cleveland's peer counseling community. She was so kind, loving and inclusive, always making me feel like I was someone special to her. She worked hard to make everyone feel that way and was a key leader and teacher of our community. Over the years I knew her, Joan constantly impressed me with her insights, thoughtfulness and vitality. She was a wonderful role model for someone who continued to grow and work for a better world,...

Had the honor and privilege to care for her during her stay in KRP.Shes a shining star very smart lady I will missed her smile and laughter.

Joan was always a hoot when it came to yoga retreat! She would always make a fashion statement and dress from head to toe to cover up from the sun. I loved her and her sincerity and the spontaneous humor we enjoyed. Blessings All, Andrea.

Getting to know Joan Danes was one of the greatest joys of my life. She made me want to do better and be better. I did and I was because she understood oppression and I knew she believed in me.

Dear Laurie, Gerry, David and your families. What losses you have this spring. Two remarkable people who truly tried to make a difference in our world. As you dab the tears, may beautiful memories comfort you. I send you warm hugs and love. Estella King

Joan was always ready to laugh and listen. Whenever we met, her huge smile seemed to be just for me!

I have known Joan for years through our peer counseling group. Her kindness to me, the special attention she gave and that smile will never be forgotten. Love you so much, Joan!
