Not sure what to say?

Since Joan died, I have been wondering how her family has been doing, particularly her grandson, Avery? I have no way of getting in touch with them & would really like to know! I think of Joan often & miss her. Linda Moussouris

I´m so sad to hear of her passing and fell just awful that we´d been out of touch. Joan was part of the village that raised me. I remember road trips with her and Ingrid. She was a dear friend to my mom and our whole family. Heartbroken. Today, I saw a beautiful picture of a lake in New England and checked the clock; I´ve had some trouble contacting my friends on east coast since moving west. It was early enough...I called Joan. I will miss you. Thank you for my first bagel with cream cheese,...

I am glad to see that this guest book was set up: as Joan was a dear friend to me in the 20 years that I knew her. Indeed, our relationship during the pandemic ended up being basically by phone -- not a way that I generally cared to communicate! But Joan always gave me the feeling that she genuinely cared for me & that speaking to me always perked her up: one of the nicest compliments I have received. Though I am glad for Joan that she went relatively quickly, I know that she left things...

My condolences. Joan was a splendid colleague, holiday meal companion and role model, someone who brought humor as well as a sharp analytic mind to all gatherings.

Those of us who were close friends to Joan are devastated by her sudden death. We will remember her as a mainstay of our anti-war movement. I will always remember how Joan -- despite her serious lack of mobility in recent years -- came to our outdoor rallies over recent months calling for an end to Raytheon's supply of weapons to Saudi Arabia for the invasion of Yemen. I will remember her as a special friend. And I will remember how she loved my strawberry waffles.

My sincere condolences to Joan's family and friends. I was a student at Boston State from 1970-1971, and I remember Joan as a wonderful teacher and inspirational activist in the anti-Vietnam war movement. May she rest in peace or maybe make a little good trouble in her next life.
