Not sure what to say?

Such a great lady! I remember as a child and teenager in Hudsonville, always looking up to her and wanting to be just like her when I got older. She leaves such a huge and wonderful legacy! RIP Mrs. Edson.

Joan was a bright light! She made you always feel welcomed and loved. There is no higher impact one can make in others' lives. Thank you, Joan, for being a beacon of goodness and a joy to know. David Westphal

Joan was my friend and mentor in the MS community here in GR. I will always remember her kindness. For years she remembered my birthday and we went out to eat together and just had the best of times.

My sympathies to your family. I had the privilege of serving under Joan when she was Mayor of Hudsonville as an account clerk in the office. She was a kind, compassionate person but she could be tough when it was needed! Her laugh will be missed but she left us with many great memories!

How our staff all relished the special times when Joan would just come by UCOM (United Church Outreach Ministry) and whisk us all away for lunch and conversation at local restaurants. She possessed an effervescent quality that made me light up inside every time I saw her in church, at UCOM, and at the many events we both attended. Please accept my sympathy for your huge loss, and know that I am another of those people who will never forget what a gem Joan Edson was. May her memory be a blessing.

I was so sorry to hear of Joan's death. I knew her many years ago when we worked together on the local branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Joan was always generous with her time and help, and always pitched in with a smile. When I think of St. Paul's words to the Corinthians "..for God loves a cheerful giver", no one more than Joan springs to mind. She was the epitome of a cheerful giver, gracious and loving in the example she set for others. My condolences to her family. RIP Joan.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Joan's passing. I only knew her from when I would book airline tickets for her to go visit her family, but when she came into our office we would have long conversations about life. I enjoyed those conversations so much, and would smile every time I saw her red car pull up to the office. Even if she wasn't coming in for airline tickets, she would just pop her head in, say hi, and ask how I was doing. I can still hear her laugh when I think about her. What a kind...

Heartfelt sympathies to your family in the passing of Joan. I have fond memories of our son Ross and Michael playing together after they met at preschool. Your mom was a gracious lady. Jeanne Nyeholt Rotman.
