Not sure what to say?

So sorry to see that Joan has passed. It is been decades since I have seen either of you. Your friendship in the 1970s was priceless. Never will forget that. Peace. Tom Guarino "Wanderin Tom" PS I still have that logo.

Howard, I am so sorry for your loss. I have some very fond memories.

Howard, I'm very sorry for your loss and very happy that you were together and in love for all those years. Freddy

I am so saddened to see this today. Remembering her birthday is today I thought I'd google her to see if perhaps I could get in touch with her again. We did communicate a few years ago when I found her on social media. She was my sister in law and friend. Until I see you again Love you! From Dear

Joan was such a great inspiration to me when I met her and Howard as a high school student. Her drive and ability as an artist, her kindness, I have taken with me my whole life.

Howard, you and Joan lived a life of love & happiness! You were there for her, hugging her, loving her, bringing her ice cream, but most importantly dedicated when she felt lost, and alone! You will be together again Howie! God Bless all who Loved Joan and cared for her through her journey! I think of you Joan when I see people with their Greyhounds! You did God's work tirelessly! You are now Free Joan! Till we meet again beautiful, talented, Sweet & giving, Joan! Sincerely, Sheri

We would all gather at the greyhound park (40th St. & Washington) and try to discourage people from greyhound racing. Some nights we werent received very well from patrons. But Joan was my...

Joan was not only a beloved, longtime friend, but she was an inspiration to me as a fellow animal protection advocate. Joan's tireless efforts on behalf of racing dogs were groundbreaking on many levels. As the editor and publisher of Greyhound Network News she raised public awareness concerning the dog racing industry, helped pass legislation to protect greyhounds, and rescued many dogs from research labs. In addition to being a tireless activist, Joan was devoted to her husband, Howie, and...
