What a loss for all those of us whom Joan befriended! She was a woman with very rare qualities -- one of the most generous and caring people I ever met in Dallas, and a person of genuinely good cheer. Charo and I are deeply sorry to read of her passing, Elly. We send you, Jim and Nancy our most heartfelt condolences from afar.

Joan and her husband volunteered for us for many years and I was proud to call them friends. Joan always had a comment and something funny to say. Her wit and wisdom will be greatly missed. She was a jem. Our deepest sympathies to her husband and family.
