Not sure what to say?

We are so sorry to hear of Joanie's passing. She was always so fun to be with at Lake Wawasee! We too felt the love from Joanie as if we were part of the family. She will be sorely missed.

Cousin Joanie...Special, funny, gracious. We treasure wonderful memories of our visits to Wawasee and Tree Top. We were always warmly welcomed (with martinis) as 'Kinfolk from California'. Dear lady, we will miss you. The fact that your 'Grandma name'' was Honey says it all. Hugs to all the Freihofers' and Reels'. Come see us in California.
Love, the Crandells' ..especially Don and Sue, Paul and Betsy and Sara Crandell Hoxie.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. She was kind and generous and always made me feel welcome during my daily visits to your home. (your dad once asked my mom for my social security number to claim me as a dependent) I fondly remember home made caramels, grilled p b and j sandwiches and her tolerance for endless activities. Putt-putt go cart, flaming tennis balls, hitching behind cars in the snow. (Maybe she didn't know about all of the activities.)

Having a martini with two olives for Joanie tonight with a spill of dry roasted peanuts on the counter...If I had become a TV sitcom writer my experiences living next to the Freihofers from age 12 to 18 would have been a ample material for a top rated show for years. "Funny" is how I remember "Mrs.Fry". I think she really liked me however after reading all of these notes I realize her best character feature was that she made everyone feel like they were loved, appreciated with that...

To our dear Freihofer friends,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. She will always be with you in the wonderful memories you have. God Bless.
The Larry Griffith Family

Sally,

She was quite a woman. I remember her kindness to our family when Mom died. I think she and Sater must be having a good time by now. The hard part is here, and my heart is with you and your family. So are my prayers.

I have wonderful memories of Jonie.
love to your family. poppy Fletcher Klein

My heart goes out to all of you. Honey was family and a friend. She was so loving and sweet, just like her nickname, Honey. I will miss her. Love you all

Dearest Freihofer/Reel friends, We will miss Joanie alot, and will always treasure our memories of her waiting for us each summer on Natticrow Beach with warm hugs and never ending smiles. She was a very special lady. We send you our condolences and prayers and love.
