GIRARD, Joan M. – Of Grand Blanc, age 67, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family.



 



Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton,



Father Ron Anderson officiating.



 



Cremation will take place following the Mass.



 



Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Redeemer Outreach Program.



 



Visitation 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday followed by a Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree Ceremony at the funeral home.



 



Mrs. Girard will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass.



 



Joan was born in Flint, Michigan on February 12, 1950, the daughter of the late Edwin “Wade” and Jeanette (Clark) Snyder.



 



On February 24, 1968 she married Greg Girard in Flint.



 



She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.



 



Joan attended school at both Holy Redeemer and Holy Family and graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1968.



 



Mrs. Girard worked for GM, Saturn and Cadillac for 27 years.



 



Surviving are husband, Greg;



 



children, Christopher (Laura) and



Lee-Ann (Alan) Harrison;



 



grandchildren, A.J. (Khloe), Kristina, Alex and Adam;



 



great-grandchild, Vanessa Rose;



 



sisters and brothers, Kay (Jerry) Burghdorf, Carl (Marcia) Snyder, Freda (Terry) Larkin, Wade Snyder and Janet Lamb;



many nieces and nephews.



 



She was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Cumpata.
