Not sure what to say?

Joan was a good friend, someone who liked a challenge and shared wonderful stories of her life and others. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always encouraged curiosity. For me in tracing family roots, drawing and sharing stories of Hawaii. She will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Joan's passing. I met her through my volunteer work with the Oswego Heritage Council in 2008. Although she was many decades older than I was, we became friends and she was a mentor to me as I pursued a PhD in history. I admired her spirit of independence and her generosity towards others. She will be greatly missed.

I miss my trial judging buddy. Joan and I had a great time traveling to test sessions in the 1980-1990's to complete our on the job training to become judges for the United States Figure Skating association. May she rest in peace. Jerilyn E. Felton, D. Min. (Doctor of Ministry)

Joan and I were Delta Gamma sorority sisters at Willamette. It is impressive to read about her many accomplishments! Anne Lasswell Nagel.

Joan was bright and vivacious. I was a Grant classmate who also hosted a Mexican exchange student and then went to Mexico City to live with a family. This is a photo of me in Mexico City the summer of 1955 with my Mexican girlfriend Betty Leon Rovira.
