Joan E. Hamilton, 75, of Grapeville, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016, at her residence. She was born May 12, 1940, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Otto and Rose Bentley Baker. Prior to her retirement, Joan was a teacher's assistant for Westmoreland Intermediate Unit No. 7. She was a former member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, in Jeannette, and enjoyed volunteering for Special Olympics. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Corrine Toth; and an infant brother, Robert Wayne Baker. Joan is survived by her husband, Ronald W. "Bill" Hamilton; daughters, Debra Kottelich and husband, Dennis, of Jeannette, Kimberly Heinbaugh and husband, Charles, of Monroeville, Lori Simon and husband, Chris, and Jennifer Radebaugh and husband, Wayne, all of Greensburg; grandchildren, Dennis and Justin Kottelich, Jill Pelt and husband, Brian, Jennifer Dowhy and husband, Sean, Nicholas Simon and Charles Heinbaugh; great-grandchildren, Savannah Mull, Joshua Preistley and Grace Pelt; and her feline friend, Sidney. Joan's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Pal Muthappan, and Three Rivers Hospice, especially Kathy, Vicky, Erica and Mary, for all of the kind and personal care that Joan received during her illness.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Free officiating. Entombment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
