Joan A. Hoffman (Stoetzel) 84 passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at The Chelsea of Brick. 


She was born in Newark, New Jersey on October 4,1939 to Louis and Adelaide. Formally from Irvington, Joan raised her family in Point Pleasant, before retiring to Homosassa, Florida for nineteen years. 


Predeceased by her husband Robert F. Hoffman and brother Louis Stoetzel, Joan is survived by her three sons, Robert Jr. (Kyle), Billy (Desdemona), and Ricky (Vickie); her sister, Susan Hamburg; and brother, Robert Stoetzel (Marcia.)


Joan loved and was so proud of her grandchildren, Lauren, Sean, Erin, Tori, Ricky Hoffman, McKayla, and JT Hughes, and Sean Malone. She was a loving aunt to Stacey Boynton (Brian), Samantha and Max; Bobby Stoetzel (Mindy), Jennifer Gilmore (Brad), Brayden and Brinley; Cristin Hamburg (Todd), and Emily. 


After Joan retired from Bell Telephone, she continued to work in the cafeteria at Point Pleasant Borough Schools and the Bay Avenue Deli. Joan was a life member, past president, and treasurer of the Point Pleasant Borough Fire Company #2, Ladies Auxiliary.


Being predeceased by her husband Robert on July 19, 2022, there will be a celebration of both of their lives, 11 a.m., Saturday, February 3 at the Point Pleasant Fire Dept. Beaver Dam Road, Point Pleasant.

Joan was a great person who was like an Aunt to me and my siblings we have known the Hoffman’s for the better part of 50 years She and Bob will be missed and always remembered and to the Boys our deepest condolences!!

Mrs Hoffman, Joan was a wonderful lady. My parents, the Hoffman's and Stoetzel’s, Conaty’s, Clayton’s, Woolley’s and so many more were life long friends. All part of the Point Pleasant Fire Company #2. So many amazing memories of Joan who worked as hard as she enjoyed her family and friends!

Thanks for 19 yrs. of friendship and laughter. Joan will aways be remembered with love.
