Not sure what to say?

When Joan came to the "Friends and Family Campout" (which is an annual event in the Portland area). She asked me to take her on a hike. She was determined to go on a hike! We hiked to a beautiful waterfall on a fairly steep trail at Silver Falls. I was impressed!

I will always be grateful that she moved back to Oregon so that we could develop a relationship with her and her family. I am glad for all the experiences we have shared!

Remembering Joan and her fondness for playing golf, bridge and world travels. With sympathy and best wishes to her family.

My heart is with her family and her friends and this time. Joan as a special place in my heart. She was such a kind soul. She was so classy and always had a smile on her face every time that I would see her. I am glad that I got to know her, even though it was only for a short while. May she always be golfing and playing bridge with all of her Claremont friends that have passed on before her. May she rest in peace.

It was such a joy to work with Joan at Catholic Charities. I am sorry to hear of her passing. Blessings. Shawn Cass

I was a volunteer for Catholic Charities' Elizabeth House in the late 80s. I worked with Joan on planning their fundraiser, the Elizabeth House tea. It was a fun and elegant affair. Joan wanted a silver tea service and plates of cookies. She was such a gracious lady, so giving and kind! I know she will be missed. May she rest in peace.

I was sorry to see Joan's obituary this morning. I worked with her for about five years at Catholic Charities and appreciated her dedication, ethics and love for her clients, especially the children. She taught me a lot. I will look for some photos of that time. Please inform me of her funeral arrangements. I would like to go if possible.

Joan was one of my best friends for about 30 years, and what a wonderful friend she was - always a strong advocate for me or anything I did. She was also probably the classiest woman I knew, always dressed for the occasion, mannerly, and friendly to one and all. She will be missed by many, but especially by me. Love and peace to the entire family!

I always enjoyed having Joan in our Walk & Dine Group here in Claremont. Please keep me informed as to the date of her memorial service.

I was sorry to hear of your mother's recent passing. Joan lived a good and blessed life. I can hear her say sorrow can be alleviated by good sleep, a bath, and a glass of wine. She was such a lady. I will remember her with smiles and laughter. Your family are in my prayers. Ronda Butler
