KNAPPER, Mrs. Joan F. Richland
Joan Faith Knapper went to be with the Lord peacefully, on April 22, 2005, following a fierce, yet blessedly brief battle against cancer. Many will miss her loving and energized presence. Joan was born April 2, 1931 in Western Springs, IL, near Chicago, to...

Knapper Family,
I am sorry to hear about Joan's passing. She left a mark on my life as a devoted Sunday School teacher and as a "watchful eye" in the Gull Lake community over teenage boys in the mid-70's --- she kept us "in check" !!!!
Our Lord Jesus surely had outstretched arms welcoming her home.
Take care,

My north woods memories from girlhood are my favorite. Having the Knappers just upstream was great even if I wasn't big enough to play with Tim and Karen. Joan shared her alligator with me. Much love to you all. --Jamie

We were so sorry to hear of Joan's
passing. It was a shock. I will miss her comming into Harding's and talking about our animals we fed, especially the deer. She was such a wonderful person. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with all of you.

Butch and I extend our deepest sympathy to Jud and the Knapper family. We will remember Joan with great fondness for her quick smile, friendship to many and for all she did to make Kalamazoo and Richland a better place for all the rest of us to live. We will not forget her.

Dave and I were really sadden to learn of Joan's death. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family.
As a teen I sang in a youth choir, but Joan was the first choir director I had as an adult with the Gull Lake Area Community Church. We had many years of singing beautiful music and laughing together. Joan was Dave's very first choir director as he had never sang in a church choir before. There are many memories that we will hold dear to both of us. She will be really missed....
