Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

In Memory of
Joan Marie (nee Kraft) Linenbroker

Obituary

Joan Marie (Kraft) Linenbroker, affectionately known as Joannie, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at Manor Grove Nursing Home in Kirkwood, Missouri. Born on September 30, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, Joannie faced dementia in these last few years, which gradually took her speech. She departed this world as quietly and serenely as she lived.

Family

Joannie is survived by her sons and stepchildren:  Michael (Kara) Linenbroker, Mathew (Kimberly) Linenbroker, and Christopher (Carrie) Linenbroker, all residing in St. Louis, and  Cindy (David) Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Mark (Anne) Linenbroker of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Her legacy continues through ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Marvin Linenbroker, her mother, and her siblings.

Service and Community

A quiet presence in her church, Joannie volunteered diligently, helped in local food kitchens, and served for several years as Financial Secretary at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Eureka. All who knew her will remember her smile and willingness to help where needed.

Legacy

Joannie’s gentle nature and steadfast faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Though she is gone from our midst, her memory will remain a source of kindness and hope in the hearts she touched.

Matt and Chris,
I am sorry to learn of your mom's passing. You always spoke so fondly of her. My sincerest condolences.

I have know Joanie since I was a child. We grew up just two doors apart on Cleveland Ave in St Louis. Joanie was my sister, Teresa's best friend through grade and high school. She was always a cheerful, loving person and I will remember her as such. I knew her sister, Sandy , as well as Charlie and Maryann. My husband and I also knew and liked Marvin. My husband is now suffering from dementia but has not lost his speech completely. I am sorry I was not in touch with Joanie more since my...

A wonderful friend. Many fun times, conversations, and lunches together after our Monday "counting" for St. Mark's. So many memories -- ALL -- make me smile!! Her strong, quiet Faith helped grow mine. Loved her as a sister.

Many fond memories of time spent with Joanie and Marv are held in our hearts. We send our condolences and prayers for comfort for her family. ~ Carol Sprick and family
