Joan E. Mack PEN ARGYL, PA Joan E. Mack, 74, of Pen Argyl, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus. Born in Easton, Aug. 17, 1944, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Edythe M. (Repsher) Humphrey. Joan was a 1962 graduate of Pen Argyl High School, and a 1965 graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing. She later received her bachelor of science degree from Wilkes University, and her master's degree from DeSales University. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a registered nurse at the Morey Elementary School of the Stroudsburg School District. Joan was a member of Corner Stone Church, Easton, the BSF Bible study, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by a son, Jonathan D. Mack and his companion, Susan Runco, of Pen Argyl; a daughter, Jennifer S. Kenney and her husband, William, of Cherry Hill, NJ, and a grandson, Ethan J. Kenney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John T. Humprey, and her former husband, John W. Mack. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Grace United Methodist Church, Pen Argyl. There will be viewing hours, Tuesday evening, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, ruggierofuneralhome.com, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl, and Wednesday, from 10 until 10:45 a.m., at the church. Interment will be in Plainfield Cemetery, Plainfield Township. Joan, one of the truly great persons I ever knew and difficult to find the words to express my sadness. We played high school basketball together and I visited her at St. Lukes Nursing school and occasionally went shopping together many years ago. Jonathan, if you remember I was your Den mother in cub scouts and Jen was an infant at the time. She would sometimes wait at my house with the baby. What a beautiful infant. I would see her from time to time, usually at the grocery store and...
