JOAN A. "JOANIE" MAHONEY

I knew Joni from the Carroll Center. She helped me select a wedding dress She was beautiful, inside and out. I admired her baking and seamstress skills. She always made and wore Laura Ashley dresses. Every Christmas, I would receive an email from Joni, wishing me a Merry Christmas. I cried every year. When my husband died in 2016, Joni took The Ride to his celebration. She was an inspiration. I love you, dear Joan. I will never forget your kindness and strength.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Joanie's passing. She was a remarkable woman who was a joy to know and work with. Her curiosity, kindness and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone in our aphasia community. She will be forever in our hearts.

Joanie was such a bright spirit. She always made me smile. She was an inspiration to me and the aphasia community. Rest in peace, my friend.

I so sorry to find this obituary. Mark, do you remember the Ostrosky family who lived next door to your parents? I am the daughter, Sondra Ostrosky Pruden. I tried to find Joanie, and you, with no luck. We live in NY, upstate. Joanie, Janet and I used to play together as kids.

I worked with Joan at HealthDrive and she made every day joyful and fun. Do I need to mention the lens free glasses . Joan surprised and delighted Marc and I when she attended our wedding. We lost touch years later but you were never far from my heart. Rest well my friend
