Not sure what to say?

This Saturday, the Mount Holyoke College V8s will celebrate our 80th anniversary. At our 70th anniversary in 2012, Joan told us that she and her friends never imagined that the group would continue so long, but she was pleased with the legacy they left behind. We will remember Joan and others who came before us. We are so grateful for her contribution to our lives.

I'm sorry I just found out about Joan. She grew up with my mother, Carol-Jean Hoffman, in Jackson Heights and somehow they both ended up in the same area of Massachusetts, staying lifelong friends. She was a lovely woman, I was fond of her, and I often think about her. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Lou Renshaw

To John and siblings:I feel grateful for having known your beautiful mother and for having met all of you. Joan and I really connected in a special way - what a gift.

To all the McNally family,
Joan epitomized the true meaning of the word LADY. She was a lady throughout her life and spread her kindness to all she touched. I had the priveledge of meeting Joan when she allowed me to babysit for her children when I was 15 yrs old. I treasure those days as she always sat & talked with me at the end of my day with her family.
She is at peace now.

Joan was indeed a beautiful, generous, and caring person. As an international student at UMASS in the late 70's, she welcomed me into her home and family with generosity and grace, forever holding a special place in my heart and memory. On a trip to NYC a few years ago, I took the opportunity to visit with Joan in Connecticut; we had a warm visit full of fond reminiscing and I was again reminded why Joan was one of my all time favourite people. My best wishes to everyone.

Mary et al, Your mom was a beautiful person as I recall from our hight school days. I hope you and your family, including Danielle, bolster your grief with wonderful memories of her.

May her memory be a blessing.

Most sincerely,

While I didn't have the joy of knowing your mom, it's seems she was a remarkable woman. May you find comfort in her memories .

My mother, Jewel Reed, loved your mom, as did I. I especially enjoyed your mom the last few years before she moved out west. She was a lovely woman whom I admired greatly. I'm so sorry for your loss. My thought & prayers are with you.
