Granny's Magic

While having our 2008 Messer Christmas party on a very snowy Sunday evening, my 4 year old grandson Micah had injured his finger while playing with his 8 year old brother Nash and 9 year old cousin Jase.

Micah was devastated as he explained how his finger had been bent backward, while I rocked him on my lap trying to soothe his tears. My mother-in-law (AKA Great Granny) walked into the room and in her hands she held a roll of black electrical tape and a hammer....

I will miss you so much granny! I hope you and and marge are having fun up there! I will always remember you and the fun we had!

I worked with Joan for many years at Weick's and first knew her from when she worked for my Aunt and Uncle, Earl and Marian Brooks. I have to say I don't know if I've met a nicer, funnier, smarter and goofier woman since. Everyday was a fun day when working with Joan. My condolences to her family. I join you in mourning her passing as well as celebrating her life.

I knew she had health issues. May she rest in peace. I remember her humor at the grocery store.
