Joan A. Platt, 93, died on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 while residing at Brookdale at Westampton. She is predeceased by H. Lucas Platt, her husband of 71 years. She is also predeceased by her father and mother, Oscar and Roxanne Stevens; her four siblings and spouses, Monroe and Helen Stevens, Jeannette and Robert Hull, Polly and John Heebner and James Stevens; her son-in-law, William M. Donnelly and her beloved dog, Bitsy. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Donnelly of Cream Ridge, NJ; her grandchildren, Ethan and Tracy Taylor, Owen Taylor and Ashlie Taylor; her great grandson, Kyle Taylor; sister-in-law, Elaine Stevens and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her grandchildren from our blended family, Linda and Joe Ialacci, Kathy and Vlad Kanterman and William and Kathleen Donnelly and great-grandchildren from our blended family, Jocelyn, Dean and Alisa Ialacci and Alyse and Justin Kanterman.

Joan was born on April 13, 1924 in Valois NY and graduated from Rochester Business School. She married on June 2, 1944 and lived in Bordentown and Bordentown Twp. and worked as a bookkeeper at GLF/Agway until her retirement. In 1985 she and Luke moved to Nokomis, FL where they enjoyed an active and full life for 23 years before returning to Cream Ridge, NJ in 2008.

Joan was active in Red Hats and a life member of the Deborah Hospital Auxiliary. She loved making crafts, playing pinochle and dominoes and was a late bloomer painter of Florida scenes, flowers, clowns and landscapes. She and Luke also traveled the country and took numerous cruises.

In 2015 Joan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and began living at Brookdale. The family wishes to that the staff at Brookdale for their care and the staff at Caring Hospice who made her last days comfortable and pain free. Their compassionate dedication helped us all get through a very difficult time. We also wish to thank Nana K. for her years of care given to Joan and Luke at home and to Joan's dedicated aide, Sharelle Ryan.
