I delivered the Grand Rapids Herald morning newspaper to the Vanderploeg residence on Auburn Street in G.R. and she was an occasional customer of mine at the Ada Drug Store, in Ada, Mi. Eternal rest grant onto her, O Lord.

My condolences to Jim, Doug and all of Joan's family and friends. The VanderPloegs were neighbors of my family (Allen) for the first 11-12 years of my life before we moved into the Forest Hills Northern District. The VanderPloegs were great neighbors as were many others on Wincrest Street. A simpler time when growing up with close friends as neighbors was a privilege that many today can't imagine.
