To Joan's family,

I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. I wish I could have been a part of her memorial and remembrance, but just heard the news today. Because of our years together as class mates, we shared so much and had a long-lasting friendship. Our pep rallies were spectacular, all due to her creative genius and ability to pull talent together from all of our classmates. I remember your mom as a very kind a giving person. Jessie, when we were in high school and needed a ride anywhere, your mom was the one who always let you have the car. My deepest regrets and prayers are with you.

I remember Joan from our days at Howe School and then Washington and East. I enjoyed our chats when she lived along the Fox River Trail when I passed by and our times on the reunion committee. I am in Florida and will be unable to attend your get-to-gether.
