Not sure what to say?

Ms. Quadland was my language arts teacher in the 7th grade at Alta Vista in El Paso, Tx. I am now almost 58 years old. Ms. Quadland had a profound impact on my life. I only wish that I could have told her. She was equally stern, kind and fair. She made me feel seen and heard at a time when my home life was tumultuous at best. She was an awesome teacher that made learning fun. I´ve never forgotten her and have periodically tried to locate her over the years. I was saddened to try again just a...

I knew Mrs. Quadland through my friendship with her son Robert. She was always friendly and never judgmental, even in my teen years when there was plenty to judge. Her home was always a comfortable and welcoming place. I have warm memories of her engaging me in real conversation about my life. She clearly cared about children.

I was truly blessed to have known the Quadlands for the past 20 years. Joan was genuinely someone who made a difference in my life and it is a lesser world without her in it. Such a charming and delightful person inside and out. I will never forget how on a trip back from Oklahoma to see we stopped by to see her. The return trip from Oklahoma to Utah had been see family so I had my wife and three young daughters with me. About six months later we lost our youngest (Ellie) and I will never...

Sweet Joan. Was such a pleasure to have in my life. I enjoyed taking care of her every day! I knew her for 3 years and I loved every minute of it! She was also funny and always told a new joke each day ! Will never be forgotten! Much love Joan. Sincerely, Pearl

Joan was a gift! She came into my life at such a perfect time. She saved my heart and gave me the gift of grandma. She took me into her heart with open arms and never thought twice of sharing her love with me. I will be forever grateful for the gift she gave me... love... respect... honor and most importantly family!! Forever mine Joan!!!

Thank you for this lovely obituary. A special thank you for including a younger photo of Joan. I met her at Calvary Presbyterian church about 20 years ago so the larger photo was easily recognizable.

I was so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. She was one of the first people I met at Calvary Presbyterian and was a wonderful mentor.
