Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Joan's passing. I have so many fond memories of the Bartel family. Joan was so patient, kind, and encouraging not only to her children but to all of the youth in the neighborhood. My deepest sympathies to the family.

The Raffertys, our longtime Buckingham Place friends and neighbors,

We know you were fortunate to have two such wonderful moms over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time of Joans passing.

Aunt Joan,
That's always how I will remember you. Mike Bartel and I would come to your Christmas Eve party. Seems that every time I talked to Michael, I always requested an Aunt Joan update. You are a very special person and I am sure your beauty and grace will never be forgotten by your family and friends. Take care Aunt Joan.

Dear Ones, Our hearts are saddened at the great loss of dear Aunt Joan. She was a very classy lady with a heart of solid gold. She often reminded me of Jackie O. Aunt Joan was Bartel royalty. I always marveled at her strength and ability to bear and raise TEN children. Oh the memories. YOU each were the JOY in her life. I rejoice for her as she's crossed the finish line to be reunited with her beloveds. I mourn with you. May God continue to hold you close and may your grief be gentle....

Bartel cousins:

Peace to you at this time. Relish the memories. Allow our loving God to carry you through this new chapter in your lives.
