Not sure what to say?

Just learned of the passing of Joan via the Canadian War Brides and Families Newsletter. My sister Gina and I met her in Ottawa in 2017 at a CWB&F reunion. She was an amazing woman as were all the War Brides including our Mum Edna Davies Godin. May your memories of her comfort you.

Betty Simpson, a big fan of the war brides, sends her sympathy to Joan's family.

The London Ontario area war brides, their family members and friends are saddened by the passing of Joan. Her contributions to Canada and Canadians will long be remembered. We are thinking of her family and friends with sympathy. Til we meet again.

To Lorna and the other members of Joan's family...I want you to know that Joan meant quite a bit to a lot of people. My mother and I were blessed to know your mother. If not for her and thousands of other women a lot of us would not be Canadians today. She was a great lady.

My deepest sympathy go out to all the Reichardt family after reading about Joan's passing. I remember her always having many projects on the go, whether it was baking in her kitchen, sewing in the dining room, or working on numerous activities for several community organizations. I always enjoyed and have many fond memories of the time at your house......and I mean a LOT of time! Her curious way of raising one eyebrow so high when something wasn't quite right always intrigued me!. She...

I remember with great fondness growing up "across the field" from the Reichardt's busy household. Our families were bonded by our ties to Henry Kelsey School, Christ Church, and a love of sports(especially hockey!) Please accept my condolences, and I wish you peace and comfort as you bid your mum a loving farewell. Shannon (Bowers) Armstrong

I only met Mrs Reichardt once but impressed me as a very happy person. She certainly had an interesting life.We bought their house on Ave L North in 1968 and live here still. We too have had a happy life here. Sorry for your loss.
