Joan and I taught 5th Grade students next door to one another for many years at Orchard Hill. She was a great teaching partner and good friend. "Teachers share compassion. Teachers need compassion. Teachers give help at times. Teachers need help at times. Teachers need other teachers." Joan was that teacher. Tom, Sarah and family--may your many happy memories sustain you at this time.

Seeing a picture and reading the obituary of my friend Joan brought back many fond memories. I was a substitute teacher at Orchard Hill School and spent time in her room including a long period when she had surgery. She helped me with lesson plans! May the Lord give you peace and comfort. I know she will be missed.
