Not sure what to say?

Barb, Chris and Jeanne....while I realize it has been nearly 50 years since I taught you at St. Mary's, it sadden me to learn of your mother's passing. She and your Dad were very nice to me that year I taught in David City and I remember them both so well. Your mom always greeted me with a smile when ever she was up at the school. I have a feeling that she motivated you "kids" to do the best you could. My prayers are with you all, even if you may not remember your old junior high teacher. God...

Am really sad to hear this. She was a friend that helped me get through St. Mary's HS. She stayed in touch for years after I moved to PA and GA. Never went home without seeing her in David City. My Dad really loved her. Joan's Mother and Father also kept in touch with my folks. She was a good friend and am blessed to have in as a friend. RIP. No more pain.

We are sending our deep condolences to the family of Joan. I rode in the Bob Roh's carpool from Abie to St. Mary's High School for 4 years. Joan was also in this carpool so got to know her very well during those years. I hated at the time to hear that she had been widowed so soon in her life, however, I envied her so much for her ability to go on to start her own business in David City. So want to let you know how much she was a part of our lives from 1954-1958. God Bless all of...

We were Joan's next door neighbors in Lincoln. We enjoyed visiting with her. She always had a smile for everyone.

Our sympathies to the Riha family. Joan has gained her angel wings and will remain in our hearts forever. With love, The Asche´s

I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. She was so sweet and a good friend to my Mom at Fallbrook. Thank you Barb and Chris for all your support at Fallbrook Dementia Support Group. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Jeri & Donna Roeder

I have known Joan from Abie grade school, I am also from Abie and have known her many years. When we both had children at Aquinas we were at many school functions together. She was a good friend. My Sympathy to the family. God Bless.

Hearing of Joan's passing brings back many great memories. I got to work with Joan in a small way and found her to be very impressive in everything she did. We became friends and I have looked up to her ever since. It is with great sadness to hear of your loss, but am comforted in having known her and knowing how that made my life better as where she is now is better for her being there.
