Smart and in control. Loving and open. She will be missed. I don´t think that anyone who ever knew her felt negatively toward her.

I was good friends with Joan at USC. She was a kind and compassionate person. We had many talks about what happens after college and we probably got all of it wrong but I will always consider her a good friend. So sorry to see this notice. May your memories be a blessing!

I would like to send my deepest sincere condolences to the family, Schochet. I will be keeping Logan and Rob lifted up in prayers. I do know such a time is this are not easy. I´m not able to be there in person, but I´m there in spirit. Be encourage. She´s in your future.

I think my first memory of Joan was at a faculty retreat the day after Hurricane Opal ripped through town. She showed great spirit! I am sorry for your loss, Rob, and Logan, Mandy, and Brody and sending you wishes for strength and the comfort of memories in the days ahead.

Joan was a gift to any student she ever taught.... always helpful, always a beautiful smile and always full of love. I loved teaching with Joan. She was so creative and always willing to go the extra mile. Rest in Peace dear friend. Jo Thacker
