Joan D. Sterling

My standard for a Grandmother was set by the wonderful Italian ones we called "nonna". Always caring and always there curing whatever was troubling us with hugs, sweet words and food. Joan was a first rate nonna even though her heritage was distant from the traditional. It takes a special person to be both a granny and a nonna. Joan met the standard for both.

Dick and all the Sterlings: Joan will be missed by all who knew her. A true fighter to the end. She's now at peace with the Lord she loved and served so well. No more pain and suffering. In my prayers.

My sincere condolences on the passing of your wife. May family and friends be there for you Dick, and may the days ahead be filled with the support you may need.

I knew Mrs.Sterling for a short time, and enjoyed bringing her food on occasions,and sharing a cup of tea, she was a fighter, and Mr Sterling a great husband. Prayers to the family.
