Not sure what to say?

I remember Joan, when she was about 10 years old. She loved elephants. I was friends with her FFather, Byron and her Mother, Lee. I was heart broken to learn about Joan's passing from A.L.S. . Being the youngest girl, she learned fast and was deeply loved by her older sisters. My sincere condolences. May she rest in eternal peace. Jean M. Sargent

Hi Joanie: I can't believe a year has passed since ALS took you away from all of us. We miss your quiet insightful remarks about this or that. You would likely have plenty to say about "this or that" today, as our world seems to be running off the rails in shocking ways that we wish to correct. I do remember, that although you and I were given the same first name, you preferred to be called "Joan" and I preferred being called "Joanie". All too often you were called "Joanie" and I was...

Jeff, Adam and Emma, When I received Jeff's Christmas card and no note from Joan, I knew something was amiss. I am so sorry for your loss. Joan was amazing. We were together for years until life took you all to Maryland. I am grateful for the summer Joan came back to MN and...

It was a pleasure to first meet Joan at a Macalester College football game where she popped over to the stadium from the library to meet us and cheer on the young Macalester lineman who eventually became her husband - our nephew Jeff. Joan was darling , quiet, thoughtful and cordial, and we came to know her also as a determined competitor in family games such as Hearts and Bridge or Dominoes; and later ---as Adam and Emma joined in--- "Memory Game" and "Uno". When Joan and Jeff and their...

Grove of 100 Memorial Trees

Hisham and I only knew Joan through her mother´s eyes, as Lee often shared her daughters´ and grandchildren´s stories. We understood that Joan was a remarkable woman who operated with grace, humor and dignity and that her entire family modeled what really means to have connection. We are very sorry for your tremendous loss.

Dear Jeff & Family, our hearts go out to you always but particularly now. In living and loving memory Carol (Holmes) & Marty Siegel, Santa Cruz, CA.
