Not sure what to say?

Dr. Tanner was my doctor at PSU about 35 years ago when I was a youngster. Every time I get a stye I think of her and recall her advice: "apply hot compresses as hot as you can and for as long as you can; your body can take it, the bugs cannot." With this hot towel in my eye I am glad to see that she lived a long and an amazing life. A woman ahead of her time.

My most sincere condolences to Joan Tanner' s close relatives, children and grandchildren. She was a part of my life for a certain time, and I will always remember her as a decent and vibrant person who definitely was an inspiration and example of a good loving mother and grandmother. I will retain only fond memories of her.

I had the privilege of teaching both Joan and earlier Nolen how to fly and achieve their private pilot licenses. They were both remarkable people, interested in everything, and had an impressive impact on my life. To this day I reflect on their wisdom and advice.

Dr. Tanner was my physician for many years at her practice in SW Portland, by Wilson High School. She was honest, caring, humorous and a no nonsense doctor. I was sad to see her practice close. Prayers to her family.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked 23 years for K. Nolen and Joan K. and it was truly a wonderful experience. They inspired me to get my private pilots license in 1980. She was an exceptional lady and will be greatly missed.
