Not sure what to say?

To a strong woman, may you rest in peace.

Heddi Silon

I just learn of Joan's passing today. I have not made peace with never seeing her sweet smile. I always thought I would have more time with her.

I spent less than a year with Joan. She was an incredible woman. She inspired me to take my creativity seriously. What a blessing! Eternally, I will remember her in all my prayers and affirmations.

Joan was a much respected artist and educator in the Community Education area of the Atlanta College of Art were she was well loved by her students and friends. May she rest in peace. With heartfelt sympathy, Marcia R. Cohen

Joan was a dear friend and fellow artist. We were together at Georgia State University in the 70s and shared our lives in many ways. I vividly remember a picnic at the monastery in Conyers, Ga with Joan and my children; Mark, Steve and Samantha. She was an inspiration as an artist and friend.

Joan was a terrific human being, one of the best, with a wickedly funny sense of humor. We had many good times together and I am a better person for knowing her. I miss her terribly.

Joan was a courageous and intelligent artist that I admired very much. What was especially wonderful about her was how much she gave to others and how insightful she was about so many things. She will be missed very much.

Joan and Doug

Joan was always very inspiring to me. I was happy that she and my dad shared such a wonderful life together. I was glad to know Joan and will miss her.
