Joan passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016. Joan was a resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Ms. Tyson was one of the best teachers in 6th grade. She was very nice, strong, kind, honest, and sweet, and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher for the year I had her. She treated every single one of us not as her students, but as her closest of friends. She believed everyone could succeed, and she gives me faith even to this day. Long live her spirit~!

Dear Tyson family,
I loved Ms. Tyson because she loved to make jokes and songs for us to remember about whatever subject we were in. She was a wonderful teacher that I will never forget. We would always talk about how she thought that we all had potential and we would become successful. I thank God for her and all she taught me! I'm so sorry for your loss!
