Not sure what to say?

This artist is so inspiring, love all her work. I recently bought an Asian art book in a thrift store and found drawings and article on her in B Sun article. I never knew of her but wish I had. Lovely soul on this Earth.

I saw Joan's work at a gallery in Del Mar and the experience with her paintings was magical for me, for the friend with me and for the gallery owner. If that much magic came for us who had simply joined ourselves to the spirit in her images, I can hardly imagine the magic of knowing Joan in real life. My great condolence to your family. I am myself comforted by living with 2 of her works. Should you want details of the specific painting and the story of its spell, please feel free to...

We are three sisters that have collected Joan Erbe since1972,starting at the IFA Galleries in.Wash D.C. later at her home which we
enjoyed immensely always collecting until
she later moved to Towson. They bring great
joy. We will miss her .Kathleen Clark, Virginia Lucero, Mary McGrew.

The Jugglar, circa 1964

I never met Ms. Erbe, but my mother sister and I have four paintings by her from the early 1960s which we inherited, and they have given us an enormous amount of joy. Growing up with her art in our home had a strong influence on us all and I think it contributed to my sister and me going into the arts. She has influenced many people in a positive way through her art.
